WorldMUN 2012
In March 2012 Harvard WorldMUN will take place in Vancouver, Canada. The WorlMUN Vienna team will prepare the new delegation for this outstanding event during weekly training sessions and periodical committee simulations.
WorldMUN is a conference organized by Harvard University that simulates the United Nations and associated International Organizations in the most authentic way. Comprised of approximately 2200 students hailing from more than 65 countries, WorldMUN is one of the largest and most diverse Model UN conferences in the world.
The principle guiding MUN conferences is that delegates must represent their assigned country's perspective in debates discussing topics of international relevance in committees such as the UN Security Council, UNDP, WTO, the Arab League. Delegates never represent their country of origin which forces them to develop a deep understanding for a foreigen country’s policies. Delegates from all over the world are challenged to find realistic solutions to issues of global importance, giving them the opportunity to improve their skills in cross-cultural communication, negotiation and public speaking. Students at WorldMUN have the unique opportunity to engage in heated debates with students from various cultural backgrounds on a variety of highly complex topics which are discussed in compliance with the authentic UN rules of procedure.
WorldMUN is a unique experience with a high level of debate, a place of intercultural exchange and learning – for a better understanding among future generations of global leaders.
